Carmilla Comes to Life!

Months ago, a small company called Textbook Stuff put out an appeal via WeFund.co.uk for funding for an audiobook project. The book in question, “Carmilla” by Sheridan Le Fanu, is regarded as being the first to feature a female vampire. Bram Stoker regarded it as a prequel to his own story “Dracula”.

One of the people behind the project is Barnaby Edwards – actor/writer/director and Dalek operator in “Doctor Who”! Having seen the appeal, I decided to pledge some money to the fund (a bit like owning a share in a company). I was thrilled when the project achieved its total in the allotted time limit and went ahead. Now all being well, at the end of October 2011, the audio version of “Carmilla”, read by the magnificent Miriam Margolyes, will be released.

Here’s the trailer!

Do buy it when it comes out and support Textbook Stuff
